A new VP on the scene!

Chippenham Town are absolutely delighted to announce a new Vice President has joined the fray for the 2023/24 season.

Paul Wikeley, an avid Chippenham supporter contacted me at the end of last season with a view to doing something to help contribute to the Chippenham Town project and elected to come onboard as a Vice President for the season.

Paul’s contribution financially I will not discuss on here but to say his donation to the club coffers was extremely generous and appreciated would be a complete understatement. If you speak to Paul around the ground I’m sure you’ll find him an open book should you be interested in knowing more about Paul and his reasons for getting involved with CTFC I’m sure he will be more than happy to tell you over a pint in the Bluebirds Bar.

We caught up with Paul for a few words on joining the CTFC Vice Presidents, why he did and what it means to him.

Chippenham Town FC are a team synonymous with fast flowing, attacking and delightful football!

Fran Phillips told this to me after I had told her that I sponsored Alresford Town FC who I had played for and captained in the early 1970s. They now play in The Wessex League at Arlebury Park. Fran asked me why I don’t sponsor CTFC as they were my current home town club? I went away and thought about it and decided to see if I could help in any way! Well I found my cheque book (What is that I hear you all say) and donated a little money to help in any way the club wanted.

Simon Lawrence is full of great ideas which hopefully will come to fruition and after speaking with him, he created an attractive package and helped me to assist in whichever way I could to see the club thrive.

I still sponsor Alresford Town who are a brilliant club run by fabulous people just like Chippenham Town FC and at this level that’s really what it’s about, the people that contribute time, resource and effort into keeping these clubs a wonderful place to enjoy football.

I speak for all of us at CTFC when I say welcome Paul to our wonderful group of Vice Presidents but more importantly, welcome to wonderful rollercoaster of emotions that is supporting Chippenham Town FC.

I’m sure you’re going to love it and personally I just want to thank you for your contributions so far both financially and otherwise, a true asset to this club you have been already and I am sure will continue to be!
