Birch is a Bluebird

The Exeter City attacking midfielder will be with us until the end of the season

Chippenham Town are delighted to announce that George Birch joins us on loan until the end of the season from, League One side Exeter City.

Birch, an attacking midfielder, is a product of The Grecians youth academy and has proven experience in the EFL as well as in the National League South this season.

George made his competitive Exeter debut in the opening game of the League Season against Doncaster Rovers before a further three appearances in League One, EFL Cup and in the EFL Trophy.

In November he joined Weston-Super-Mare on a loan deal, and played nine times for the Seagulls including twice against ourselves in the FA Trophy and League where he performed well and picked up the MOTM award in our FA Trophy defeat.

He was recalled in early January, and linked up with Exeter’s FA Cup squad as they travelled to The Premier League’s Manchester City. Despite trailing 8-0 when coming on, Birch netted a fantastic strike from range to secure a memory for a lifetime.

George is signed and available to link up with the squad for this weekend’s game against Chelmsford City, and he will wear the shirt number 28!
