Bluebirds bring in young defender
18-year-old joins us on a youth loan deal from Championship side Watford.
Chippenham Town Football Club are delighted to announce that George Abbott has joined the Bluebirds on a youth loan from EFL Championship side Watford on a 3-month basis.
The 18-year-old defender joined Watford’s Academy in 2016 and has also appeared for the first-team during the 2021/22 pre-season, against the likes of West Bromwich Albion, Brentford and Arsenal, he signed his first professional contract with Watford in 2022.
Last season, George regularly captained the Under-21 side from centre-half, whilst also scoring against Everton in the FA Youth Cup.
He’s also a Welsh youth international, captaining Wales’s Under-19 side during a fixture against Scotland in March 2023.
