MATCH REPORT: Cirencester Town 1-2 Chippenham Town – Sat 23rd July 2022

Published: at 3:32pm

The Bluebirds came from behind to edge this friendly in the Cotswolds, but of more concern will be first half injuries to Luke Russe and Alex Bray who both had to be substituted inside the opening half hour.

The Bluebirds attacked from the off as Bray found a Trialist whose shot drew a good save from Alex Harris.

At the other end Pablo Martinez did well to block an effort from Jordan Lymn.

Will Henry then held an effort from Ellis Dunton.

On twenty six minutes Bray’s shot on the turn was saved by Harris, three minutes later Callum Gunner’s long range shot was just too high.

Ten minutes before the break Harris made a fine save from Joe Hanks’ free kick.

Cirencester took the lead just after the hour through Lymn.

Midway through the half Bluebird’s Will King fired over after a good through ball from fellow substitute Tom Mehew. Chippenham equalized on sixty eight minutes when King headed home at the far post.

Two minutes later Matt Jones hit the winner when he drove home a low free kick.

Chippenham: Will Henry, Eddie Jones, Matt Jones, Landon Golding, Pablo Martinez, Callum Gunner (Tom Mehew 52), Trialist (Noah Coppin 52), Alex Bray (Alfie Santos 28), Joe Hanks, Joe Parker, Luke Russe (Will King 15), Caine Bradbury
