CLUB STATEMENT: Fran Phillips
The following is an update from Commercial Manager Simon Lawrence regards to Fran Phillips who was taken to Hospital earlier today during our Family Fun Day.
A small stroke had been confirmed, they are doing a procedure now which is intended to break down a clot which has caused a lack of blood to the brain and hence, stroke.
We are definitely in for the long haul, this procedure itself takes about an hour and then a potential transfer to Bristol or Oxford for removal should she need it. Either way, she’s in for 24 hours minimum be it one of the 3 and then transfer to Portsmouth hospital via ambulance when they are satisfied she’s out of the woods.
Spoke to her loads, she’s very responsive and very chatty, albeit tired and obviously a bit confused but her short term memory and recollection of events is spot on so no major worries there, we are hoping that with the procedures set it place she will make a full recovery and be back to her usual self very soon.
I can’t thank everyone enough for their efforts today in rallying around Mum and your quick actions as a club once again have potentially saved a life when in peril. It goes to show what a truly special place Chippenham Town FC is and you should all be hugely proud to be a part of it.
I just hope it was all successful in terms of the Fan Zone and everyone is enjoying themselves and the game of course..
Thanks ever so much to everyone, far too many well wishers and concerned friends to thank but nonetheless appreciated immeasurably!
I’ll see you all very soon, Simon Lawrence, Commercial Manager
