21 clubs. 21 grounds. 1,000 miles. On a bike.

That’s the challenge Football Manager researcher Ryan O’Connell set himself at the start of this season, as he planned to cycle to every ground in the National League South, raising funds for Prostate Cancer UK along the way.

Ryan’s nearing the end of his challenge and has cycled 740 miles so far.

On Saturday he’ll be adding 113 miles to that total as he cycles to #TheTSStadium for our game against Maidstone United.

Talking about why he took on the challenge Ryan explained “Firstly, I wanted to do something for sustainability in football.

I drive to a lot of games in my role as Head Researcher for the National League South and wanted to try to cut down on petrol.

And given how prices have gone I’m glad!

And I also wanted to raise money for Prostate Cancer UK, a brilliant charity who fund research into a charity that sadly one man dies from every 45 minutes.”

The fundraising effort has gone so well that Ryan has increased the target twice and is now targeting £3,000 and is at 92% so is hoping to beat it by the end of the season.

We’re looking forward to welcoming Ryan to the Hardenhuish on Saturday and if you’d like to donate, the Just Giving link is: justgiving.com/thecyclingresearcher
