Young Bluebird called up to Paul Fairclough’s England ‘C’ squad ahead of Monday’s game against Nepal

Chippenham Town FC are delighted to announce this evening that Dan Ellison has been called up to Paul Fairclough’s England ‘C’ squad ahead of their game against Nepal on Monday 6th of May!

All of us here at Chippenham would like to congratulate Dan on this fantastic achievement which we truly believe is not only testament to the hard work Dan has put in this season but the brilliant performances that he has consistently put in since he broke into the side.

We would also like to offer our congratulations to Head of Academy, Joe Sharples. Joe has overseen Dan’s progression from Talent ID, right through the pathway and into the First Team Squad this season.

For Chippenham Town, it’s just another record that manager Gary Horgan has toppled since his arrival as Manager with Dan becoming the FIRST player to be called up to the England National Team whilst being a CURRENT Chippenham Town First Team player.

We caught up with Gary for his opinion on the news.

All of us at Chippenham Town are delighted and proud that Dan’s excellent performances this season have been rewarded with this recognition. It really does highlight the pathway from academy to first team and the work we are trying to do and promote as a club. We wish Dan the very best on Monday.
