Eddie Jones re-signs for the 2023/24 season

Published: at 1:15pm

Defender has committed his future to The Bluebirds for the 2023/24 season.

Chippenham Town FC are delighted to announce that subject to the usual clearances, Eddie Jones has once again signed with the Bluebirds for the upcoming 2023/24 season.

Joining the Bluebirds in 2020, Eddie firmly established himself as a favourite amongst Chippenham Town supporters and was arguably headed for a Player of the Season Award before the COVID-19 pandemic hit the UK and football was put on the backburner. In the one game that season that saw fans enter the stadium, Eddie whipped in a devilish cross against Bath City that saw Jack Batten turn past his own goalkeeper. Eddie would later go on to become a colleague of Batten as he joined Bath City before returning to the Bluebirds after only one season.

Vastly experienced at 32 years old, Jones has had spells in the United States and also with Oxford and Solihull Moors on his return to Jolly Ol’ England. Now in his second spell with the Bluebirds, Eddie will be looking at passing on some of that much learned wisdom in the game to the new lads coming through at Chippenham and will no doubt be another leader in the dressing room.

Jones celebrated his success last season by marrying his lovely wife over the summer and all of us here at Chippenham Town FC would like to congratulate Mr and Mrs Jones on their nuptials and look forward to seeing Eddie back at the TS Stadium for the 2023/24 season!
