Fas extends his stay

Craig Fasanmade has re-signed for the 2023/24 season

Chippenham Town are delighted to announce that rejoining the Bluebirds for the 2023/24 campaign is fan favourite, Craig Fasanmade.

Craig has signed for his second season with the Bluebirds following his switch from Hemel Hempstead Town last year. Making an instant impact in the side with his pace and eye for goal causing a real problem for defenders up and down the National League South.

Coming through the ranks at Oxford, Fas would go on to play for Hungerford, Wealdstone and Hemel before arriving with Chippenham in the early stages of the 2022/23 season. Craig can play off either wing and also can lead the line as an out-and-out striker and will no doubt be looking to build on his 5 goals from last term in what could be described as an injury hit season. A bad ankle injury kept him on the sidelines for part of the campaign although he still managed to notch important goals, particularly putting the game to bed against Taunton and who could forget that late equaliser against Concord Rangers in the 2-2 draw that really sparked the incredible run of form that saw the Bluebirds ascend the National League South and finish strong.

Sadly for Fas, his run of bad luck culminated in a rather nasty shoulder injury on the final day against Dulwich Hamlet but Chippenham fans will be delighted that it didn’t affect his writing hand as Fas put pen to paper on a new deal with the Bluebirds and our number 10 is back for another season!

Gary Horgan was particularly happy to get this one over the line:

We’re delighted to have re-signed Craig. Fas is incredibly hard working, incredibly quick and scored some important goals for us last year. We’re really looking forward to working with a fully fit Fas and excited to see what we can achieve together this season.

Welcome back Fas.

We caught up with the man himself to see what he had to say.

I am delighted to sign with the Bluebirds for another season, can’t wait to be back working with the management team and the lads! I felt welcomed from the fans from the moment I came to the club and I think we the team can really build on the positives from last years record breaking season and continue to push this club onwards and upwards.

Looking forward to the exciting journey ahead and can’t wait to see the brilliant fans back at the TS Stadium soon for another big year! Up the Bluebirds, CF10

So, Craig Fasanmade is back with the Bluebirds for another season and I am sure I am joined by all Chippenham supporters when we say, WELCOME BACK FAS!!
