Freddie Grant signs contract extension

Versatile player has committed to another season with The Bluebirds.

Chippenham Town Football Club are absolutely delighted to announce that Freddie Grant has put pen to paper on a new deal that will see him stay with the club until the end of the 2024/2025 season.

The popular defender has captured the hearts of the Bluebirds with a series of fantastic performances this season and even found himself in the Vanarama National League South’s Team of the Season at the halfway mark. Injury may play a part in his taking a spot in the final TOTS however, one thing is for sure, he has been one of the standout players for the Bluebirds this season with his aerial prowess and sheer determination to do his best for his side.

We caught up with Freddie for his thoughts on signing a new deal with the Bluebirds.

I am absolutely delighted to get next year sorted. We have a great group on and off the pitch and it’s a huge plus that everyone at the club is fantastic with me and my little family. We are all learning every week under this management team and knowing we have another pre-season to work on what we need to work on leaves me excited for the challenges ahead in the 2024/25 season. Up the Bluebirds.

Chippenham Town manager Gary Horgan also delivered his thoughts on locking down Freddie Grant for next season.

Great news for the club. Freddie has been brilliant this year and his ability allows him to play in multiple positions as well as his experience has been invaluable amongst this young, exciting group. We’ve missed him since his injury but for those fans that were at the recent fixture against Dover Athletic, you can see how much winning means to Freddie. He’s quite rightly featured highly when being mentioned amongst the best defenders in the National League South and we are really pleased that Freddie has chosen to continue his own improvement and playing his best football with us.

With the nature of the beast at the non-League level being that there can be a high turnaround of players season to season, the capture of Freddie’s signature will come as a huge boost to Chippenham supporters who have really taken Freddie to heart this season with his passion, his drive and his performances on the pitch.

So it’s my pleasure to announce that we will be seeing Freddie Grant in the Blue & White in 2024/2025.
