Further Information regarding Family Fun Day / Chippenham Town vs Melksham Town

Good Afternoon Bluebirds Fans!

As I am sure you would have seen from advertising both around the town and on Social Media. The PSF between Chippenham Town and Melksham Town on the 29th of July is not only going to mark the last game of our Pre-Season Schedule but also see us hosting our first, Family Fun Day at the Thornbury Surfacing Stadium, Hardenhuish Park.

We are confident that this is going to be a fantastic event with so much going on for the young people in our community and with the centrepiece of the day, the Ian Monnery Cup between the two sides at 2pm.

With the creation of the ‘FanZone’ for the afternoon opening at 11am, we have had to make use of our top car park in order to do so. Regrettably, this is going to cause a slight inconvenience to our standard parking procedures and must issue the following instructions.

All parking for visitors, home officials, match officials, playing and non-playing staff will be located in the bottom car park on Bristol Road on a first come, first served basis with the exception of disabled parking spaces which shall be reserved in the spaces closest to the Donkey Fields in the Bristol Road Car Park for ease and convenience.

Parking alongside Bristol Road will be available, however limited, so an overflow car park can be found at Sheldon School. A short walk to the ground away. We don’t anticipate a massive influx of cars however, we are aware that with the top parking spaces unavailable, we have had to take these measures.

There will be NO VEHICULAR MOVEMENT at all in the Top Car Park from 10.30am until 7.30pm with the exception being if a vendor has to leave the FanZone or an emergency vehicle needs to make its way to the stadium.

There is to be ZERO PARKING available at the Sports Club adjacent to the Stadium. The Sports Club whilst very supportive of us and our Family Fun Day require their parking spaces and cannot have overflow traffic into their facilities.

Chippenham Town Football Club needs this kind of day to succeed. Our supporters are always going to be our most valuable asset and we are very much looking forward to doing more and more to offer back to our supporters, their families and friends and further cement the Bluebirds as part of a thriving community.
