Jake Evans extends Bluebirds stay

Published: at 12:00pm

Midfielder commits to the club for another season.

Chippenham Town are absolutely delighted to announce that they have agreed terms with Jake Evans ahead of the 2024/25 season.

Evans signed for the club at the beginning of this season from Hungerford and quickly introduced himself to his new supporters with 2 goals in only his second game with the Bluebirds, a 4-2 away win against Havant & Waterlooville. Jake was having a solid season before suffering an injury away to Welling which took him out of action for a good few months. Picking up right where he left off on his return to the fold, Evans scored an absolute worldie against Maidstone at the Gallagher picking out the top bracket with a left foot volley.

Off the pitch, Evans has quickly embraced what it is like to be a Bluebird. A friendly character around the ground, a vital part of the dressing room as one of the elder statesmen of the side despite only being relatively young himself and definitely a player you would rather have with you than against you!

We caught up with Jake to discuss his decision to re-sign for the club.

I am really pleased to be signing a new deal with such a great club.

The gaffer, staff, fans and my teammates have all been brilliant with me and I’ve loved every minute of being a Bluebird so far.

I can’t wait to continue playing my football at Chippenham next season and I’m delighted to be at such a fantastic club at a very exciting time for everyone involved, UP THE BLUEBIRDS

Gary Horgan also gave us his thoughts after adding yet another player to his ranks for next season,

It’s great to have Jake back for the 2024/2025 season.

Jake is a local lad and I have made no secret that I want to sign the best local players. He was in fantastic form before he got injured and when he returned he scored that brilliant ‘Goal of the Season’ contender against Maidstone.

He’s a goal scoring midfielder and has that ability to strike one from distance. We look forward to seeing many more spectacular goals from Jake at the TSS next season

So, that’s another vital part of Chippenham Town’s current squad committed to next season and with plenty of discussions still to be had, the future is looking bright for the Bluebirds as Gary continues to lock his lads down for what is looking like another very exciting season at the TS Stadium!

Congratulations Evo!
