Midfielder joins from Hungerford Town

Joining up with the Bluebirds for the 2023/24 National League South is 25-year-old midfielder, Jake Evans.

Jake joins the club from our neighbours at Hungerford Town. Having spent 10 years in the Swindon Town Academy set-up, Evans made his debut for the Robins in 2016-17 as Chippenham were ascending to the National League South.

Spells at Farnborough were cut short when Evans went on trial to Cardiff and joined their development side between 2018-2020 but after leaving the other Bluebirds, joined up with the Crusaders at Hungerford Town where he has been ever since. A spell littered with goals and assists caught the eye of many around the league. Jake was much sought after upon his departure but in the end, Gary Horgan convinced the midfielder that Chippenham was the destination for him.

Jake announced earlier on his Twitter (@evans98jake) that he is “Delighted to sign for @ChipTownFC and he cannot wait to get started”.

Triggering a swathe of messages of congratulations and well wishes, particularly from his previous club, who clearly hold him in very high regard.

Welcome to Chippenham! Jake Evans!
