Saturday saw the the opening weekend of the Men’s league season, but also saw the wider footballing pyramid continue it’s fixtures and CTFC academy’s players on dual registration gain a whole host of minutes.

Bevan Cross, a very recent dual registration with Southern Premier League side Yate Town, made his first appearance with the Bluebells as he was brought on from the bench in their draw with Sholing.

Piotr Petrynski started in Swindon Supermarine’s 4-2 win against Exmouth Town, with former Bluebirds’ academy player Dan Warre scoring for Marine.

In the Hellenic Premier Division, Royal Wootton Bassett hosted Cirencester, with the home side containing Ed Taylor and Lewis Hayward. Basset led for most of the match before conceding at the death.

At Cribbs, Olek Yakymchuk played the full 90 and kept a clean sheet in their home draw to Highworth Town.

In the Western League Div One, Jack Amor was in goal for Warminster Town, as they ran out 3-0 winners over Cadbury Heath.

In the same division, three of our players were involved in Welton Rovers’ 1-1 draw with Hengrove Athletic. Alex Kieh and Ashton Arlow both started with Gio Angelinetta on the bench.

Calne Town against Avonmouth saw Ed Oatley brought on from the bench late on, being impactful and setting up a teammate who fired over.
