MATCH PREVIEW: Chesham United vs Chippenham Town | National League South | Tuesday 22nd October 2024
Harry Minton previews our trip to Chesham.
Midweek action returns for the Bluebirds as they travel to the Meadow to face Chesham United. Chippenham have a cause for some optimism after winning their last two games and keeping back to back clean sheets.
In the last two matches for the Wiltshire side, it has been a 1-0 win away at strugglers Aveley, thanks to a late goal from Leone Gravata. And this weekend it was a resounding 3-0 win at home to ten men Hemel Hempstead with Gravata on the scoresheet once again alongside Caine Bradbury and Harry Parsons scored from the spot as well.
For the Generals last time out it was a disappointing 1-1 draw away to bottom side Weymouth who grabbed a late equaliser through a goal from Charlie Rowan. The reason there could be optimism for our boys going into this game is because Chesham are one of only three sides in the league still yet to keep a clean sheet. And also they have only won one home game in the league so far this season, that was a narrow 3-2 win against Aveley.
The last time those two sides faced each other at the Meadow was towards the end of our promotion season from the Southern League Premier Division. It would be a 3-1 win for us in March 2017 in Buckinghamshire, and with Chesham’s problems of not keeping a clean sheet recently, a similar result could be on the cards.
Come on you Bluebirds!!!
