MATCH PREVIEW: Chippenham Town vs Slough Town | National League South | Tuesday 26th November 2024
Harry Minton previews our midweek home game against Slough Town.
Midweek action returns to #TheTSStadium as our Bluebirds prepare to face Slough Town.
This is a big game for both sides, with the Rebels currently sat just outside the playoffs, where as Gary Horgan’s boys could go within one point of the top seven with a win on Tuesday night if results else where go our way.
The Wiltshire outfit are unbeaten in their last four league games, picking up ten points along the way as well as three clean sheets which means Will Henry currently leads the race for most clean sheets out of any goalkeeper in the National League South.
A 2-0 win away at strugglers St Albans City at the weekend, thanks to a Harry Parsons brace for the Bluebirds, brings his tally to six league goals this season in Chippenham colours.
Meanwhile, for Slough last time out it was a shock result as they went three goals behind at home to strugglers Welling United.
They eventually brought the game back to 3-2 but a late red card killed any hope of a full comeback for the Rebels as they suffered a first home defeat in the league since September.
However, in contrast to their decent home form, their away form is far from brilliant, as they have only won two away games so far this season, with the last win on the road for Slough coming in August.
This is a huge confidence boost for the Bluebirds, who are on a great run in the National League South recently too, and another reason why us fans can be confident going into Tuesday nights fixture is the fact we have only lost two of the last seven home meetings against the Rebels in all competitions. Last season was a 2-1 win in front of the home crowd, with Owen Windsor and Matt McClure securing all three points.
I’m sure Freddie Grant will be looking to prove a point against his former side, he was with our opponents during the 2021/2022 season, where he scored three goals from left back. He then left for Farnborough the following summer before joining Gary Horgan’s boys in the summer of 2023.
It’s another winnable game coming up on a cold Tuesday night where we are looking to extend our unbeaten run against Slough Town.
Come on you Bluebirds!!!
