Saturday football is back at the Thornbury Surfacing Stadium, as National League side Yeovil Town are in town for our third pre-season friendly of the 2025/26 campaign!
The week in Chippenham
The biggest news of the week came on the last day, as we confirmed the signing of highly rate attacking midfielder Quevin Castro! He becomes our 7th signing of the summer!
The other big news this week was the release of our League fixtures for the season. The first five matches are earmarked as tough games, with Dorking at home to open the season! Our festive and easter opponents are Bath City, as usual, and newly promoted AFC Totton. We finish the season with a trip to Horsham.
Our Opponents
The Glovers are an historic club in the South-West, with 16 seasons in the EFL from 2003 to 2019. Yeovil finished 2024/25 in 18th place in the National League, having been promoted to from the National League South as champions the season previously.
During the course of the 2023/24 season and their title winning campaign, Yeovil and Chippenham faced off against each other twice, and the Wiltshire side would end the two games undefeated!
The first encounter was at the Thornbury Surfacing Stadium, in which Morgan Williams would put into his own net late on to secure us a draw!
Fixture History
The return fixture in March would prove to be one of the most historic nights in CTFC history! Despite now Bath City striker Alex Fisher scoring in the first half, goals from Aaron Amadi-Holloway, Matt McClure and Craig Fasanmade would turn the match around to extend our impressive record against league Champions!
Familiar Faces
There is just one recognisable face, with former bluebird Harvey Greenslade now turning out for Yeovil! Greenslade was at Chippenham during the historic 2022/23 season, in which he played and scored in our FA Cup run!
Online tickets are available until 11am on the day of the fixture, with pay on the gate tickets also being available, with payments of both cash and card being accepted!
