MATCH PREVIEW: Farnborough vs Chippenham Town | National League South | Saturday 30th November 2024

Published: at 5:33pm

The games do come thick and fast for our Bluebirds as we are back on theroad this weekend to face a solid Farnborough side.

Gary Horgan’s boys are coming off quite a disappointing midweek as they were totally outclassed in the league, losing 3-0 at home to Slough Town and then unfortunately losing out on penalties after a 1-1 draw with Royal Wootton Bassett Town in the Wiltshire Premier Shield, where some of the young Bluebirds got some minutes in front of the home crowd.

It won’t be easy, however, to put it right away at Cherrywood Roadagainst a Farnborough side who currently sit in sixth place and have only lost two games at home so far this season in the league.

And alsothe Yellows are coming into this fixture on a high after winning 1-0 athome to Worthing on Tuesday night, the visitors having to play the majority of the second half with ten men.

The last time our boys in blue won away to Farnborough was in March 2023, a Matt McClure penalty sealing a narrow 1-0 win that day as it helped us continue our incredible fifteen game unbeaten run during the second half of that season.

We have also visited the Yellows as recent as April of this year, unfortunately the boys from Wiltshire went down 3-1, with Tom Mehew getting our consolation goal of the game.

Hisham Kasimu is one player from the opposition to keep an eye out for on Saturday, he was amongst the goals in our last trip to Cherrywood Road and he has also netted against the Bluebirds this season for Enfield when they came to Hardenhuish Park, though it was lateheartbreak for them as Gary Horgan’s men clawed their way back to win 3-2. Kasimu has since returned to Farnborough where I’m sure he’ll beeager to haunt us once more.

Former Yellows player Harry Parsons is in decent goal scoring form as of late with four goals in his last five games, it would be nice to see himscore the winner against his former club.

Come on you Bluebirds!!
