It’s another road trip for the #BlueArmy, as they make the trip across the M3 to Hampton & Richmond Borough, in Matchday 10 of the 2021/22 National League South.

Chippenham are coming off the back of a 2-2 draw against Eastbourne Borough, in the game which featured plenty of action, controversial moments and of course penalties. Harvey Bunker scored his brace from the spot to give Chippenham a 2-1 lead, right until the 90th minute when Eastbourne equalised via Josh Oyinsan, to send us back to Wiltshire with a point on the road.

Mike Cook gave his thoughts from the draw, saying:

“The lads were absolutely heroic playing under ten men for at least 80 minutes, after Kieran Parselle was sent off in the 16th minute”. “Everybody who didn’t attend the game, just be aware that the lads gave 150% for the performance, so for us to come away with results like this, it’s brilliant”.

Chippenham currently sit 10th in the National League South, after nine matches. With a level amount of wins, draws and defeats so far. But have most notably been unbeaten on the road from five games. In what has been proven to be a very tough league this season, the Chairman down to the tea lady will be delighted with the performance so far this season.

Hampton & Richmond Borough or known as the “Beavers” currently sit two places above us in the League table, and to be fair to them, they have had a flying start to the season, most notably picking up four victories in a row, against the likes of Ebbsfleet, Chelmsford, Wimborne, and Walton Casuals earlier last month into October, which will keep manager Gerry McCann happy with his side.

Hampton exited the FA Cup last weekend, following a 2-0 defeat against an Ebbsfleet United which have proven to be absolutely ruthless this season, but their League form has been great, after beating Chelmsford 4-2 from a few weeks back and most notably winning 3-0 against Fleet from September 11th 2021.

This season will mark six years since Hampton have been in the #NLS, and credit where it’s due, the Beavers have finished mostly in the top ten, and in the playoffs a few times since their first season in 2016/17.

They play their home games at The Cleo Saul Beveree Stadium, located in Hampton, West London, which can hold up to 3,500 spectators.

Both sides have faced each other on four occasions, with two matches being cancelled due to the COVID-19 pandemic, which forced the end of the last two seasons.

Hampton have been victorious on three occasions, winning (2-1, 1-0 and 3-0 respectively.)

Chippenham have beaten the Beavers at home on one occasion, winning 3-2 back in 2018.
