MATCH PREVIEW: Poole Town vs Chippenham Town, Emirates FA Cup 2QR, Sat 18th Sept 2021

Published: at 11:02pm

It’s that time of the year! The Emirates FA Cup is here and we are on the road for the 2nd Qualifying Round away to Poole Town.

In today’s Match Preview, we look ahead towards our upcoming 2nd Qualifying Round fixture, as we travel to face Poole Town, a side the Bluebirds are very familiar with, this will be the second year in the row we face the Dolphins, as we look to continue our stellar form from last season. When both sides met at #TheTSStadium, for what was an entertaining encounter, despite being Behind Closed Doors, both sides drew 2-2 but the Bluebirds followed up by winning 5-4 on Penalties, following Bradley Ash slotting the ball past the keeper, to secure the Bluebirds a tie against Ebbsfleet United.

The Bluebirds will look to turn recent results around with a victory at Tatnam, as they fell short to a 3-2 defeat to Chelmsford City last weekend as Charlie Sheringham netted a brace for the visitors, followed up with a goal by Simeon Jackson as they sealed all the points against Chippenham. Despite the defeat, many supporters will feel that Chippenham’s start to the season has been nothing short of sensational, to be in the top half of the table, in a division where there are some big teams who will more than likely be sniffing around the play-offs ahead of May 2022, Mike and the coaching/playing squad will be very satisfied by how they are going so far..

Poole have had a similar start to us so far this season, as they currently sit 7th in the Southern Premier’s South division, sitting on 11 points from 3 victories so far, that’s definitely what manager Tom Killick will want to be seeing, as he’s hoping to get the Dolphins back into the National League South, after being relegated a few seasons ago, our hosts today have just come off the back of a 5-0 victory over Swindon Supermarine in the 1st Qualifying Round of the FA Cup with two braces from Tony Lee and Luke Burbidge, two players that Chippenham will most certainly have their eyes on tomorrow.

Don’t forget, if you are not able to make the game tomorrow, we have plenty of ways were you can stay tuned with the action, as always our Bluebirds LIVE Twitter service will be available with the latest minute-by-minute updates from the game and Match Highlights will be available as always on our Official YouTube channel.
