Match Highlights

The Hoops were just to dominant with Josh Parker netting in the second half, Joe Iaciofano netting a hat-trick throughout the game and former Bluebirds loanee Klaidi Lolos scoring a sublime effort from outside the box to steal all three points from Chippenham, and to send them a place lower in the relegation zone at 22nd place in the league table. Despite the result, Gary in his Post-Match interview stated: “there were a lot of positives to take out, however a lot more things to work on to move us in the right direction”.

Chippenham will be looking towards their backline in the coming games, following the re-call of Harrison Minturn back to Swindon Town, following injuries and suspensions at his parent club. We of course wish Harrison all the best back at The Robins, and we thank him for his efforts with us.

Our hosts, Torquay United come into this game with a similar run of form in the National League Premier, currently finding themselves 22nd in the league table, with only 4 wins in 23 games. In their last five games, they have only picked up 1 win, 1 draw and 3 defeats, most recently losing 3-2 to Oldham Athletic.

Manager Gary Johnson, has been in-charge of the Gulls since 2018, most notably sending them up from the National League South to the Premier during the 2018/19 season. In his 202 games he’s managed, he’s won 94 games, drawn 44, and lost 64 games with a 46.5% win percentage. We’ve picked out these two to watch out for during tomorrow’s game, on-loan Centre Forward Will Goodwin from Stoke City has netted 7 goals in 24 games during his loan spell with ends in January 2023, and closely following him is Aaron Jarvis who has netted 6 goals in 17 apps since joining from Scunthorpe United earlier in the season.

Both of these sides, have had a lot of history in previous meetings with Chippenham most notably coming out on top with 2 wins in league action during the same season Torquay were crowned champions of the 2018/19 National League South, last time out winning 2-1 at #TheTSStadium with Dean Evans and Nick McCootie netting back in April 2019, Matt Smith netting the only goal during the first meeting between the sides in the league back in September 2018.
