
MATCH REPORT: Bath City 0-1 Chippenham Town | National League South | Monday 21st April 2025
The Bluebirds came out on top in the A4 derby, gaining revenge for their home defeat to Bath on Boxing Day.
The Bluebirds won an eighth minute free kick on the edge of the Bath area but Luke Spokes’ delivery failed to trouble.
The ball was moved down the other end and Scott Wilson hit the side netting.
On sixteen minutes Harry Parsons went down in the area but no penalty was awarded.
Midway through the half Harlee Vozza made a good run but his attempted cross deflected into the hands of Harvey Wiles-Richards at the other end Wilson’s shot looped wide.
Just before the half hour Alex Bray went down and had to be stretchered off with a knee injury, to be replaced by Caine Bradbury.
On forty minutes Mitch Beardmore’s corner was headed over by former Bluebird skipper Kieran Parselle.
HALF TIME: Bath City 0-0 Chippenham Town
At the start of the second half Luke Haines’ shot from distance went over the bar.
At the other end Will Henry superbly touched half-time substitute Elliott Frear’s fierce drive onto a post and behind for a corner.
On the hour mark Tom Mehew found Bradbury whose low shot was well-saved by Wiles-Richards.
Five minutes later Bradbury was off target with another effort.
On sixty eight minutes substitute Leone Gravata’s first touch saw his headed effort cleared off the line by Jordan Tillson a minute later Haines saw his effort go wide.
Chippenham took the lead on seventy four minutes as Parsons stabbed the ball home. Two minutes later Henry blocked an effort from Ash.
Wiles-Richards then saved a seventy ninth minute effort from Spokes at the second attempt.
On eighty seven minutes Vozza’s curling shot went wide.
In the first minute of stoppage time another Vozza shot just curled wide.
In the last minute of stoppage time substitute Alex Fisher shot over the bar following a long free kick from Wiles-Richards.
