Chippenham lost their unbeaten home record as they went down to a solitary goal from Slough Town

On two minutes the Rebels impressive Aaron Kuhl shot wide from distance.

Eight minutes later Josh Jackman was also off target for the visitors.

At the other end Tom Mehew fired over after a corner was only half cleared.

Jackson’s free kick from the left then missed everyone and went past the far post.

Slough then saw successive shots blocked before Scott Davies’ cross saw Ben Harris flick his headed effort over.

Moments later Harris had to be substitute following a five minute delay with a leg injury.

Chippenham unsuccessfully claimed a penalty as Noah Coppin was sent sprawling in the area.

On the half hour Joe Parker’s cross saw Coppin’s headed effort lack the power to beat Rhys Forster in the Slough goal.

Two minutes later a clever spin in midfield from Joe Hanks saw him drive forward but his low shot was saved.

A minute before the break Kuhl found Johnny Goddard but his shot was deflected over.

HALF TIME: Chippenham Town 0-0 Slough Town

Ten minutes into the second half Goddard’s effort from just outside of the area went wide.

There followed a spell where every free kick appeared to be going the way of the Berkshire side.

From one centre back Joe Dandy saw his close range headed effort deflected behind.

Dan Roberts, on loan from Dartford, then saw his low shot go wide whilst moments later his cross saw a point blank header from Matt Lench superbly saved by Will Henry.

On seventy four minutes a run from Harvey Greenslade saw him shoot into the side netting.

The winning goal came on seventy nine minutes following yet another Rebel’s free kick as Roberts crossed for Jackman to head home.

Henry then rushed out to grab the ball off the toes of Goddard.

In stoppage time a Bluebird corner was cleared to Will Tizzard whose shot went wide.
