MATCH REPORT: Chippenham Town 0-2 Hampton & Richmond Borough | National League South | Saturday 26th October 2024
The opening twenty four minutes of this match was devoid of any goalmouth action with the only thing of note being the Beavers right back Billy French going off injured to be replaced by Anthony Taylor.
The game sprang into life starting on twenty four minutes as the London side’s Jack Taylor headed a Jake Gray free kick wide.
Three minutes later as Hampton unsuccessfully appealed for a penalty Gianni Crichlow, played to the whistle, showing good match awareness to curl the ball past Will Henry.
On the half hour a Chippenham clearance fell to Josh Keeya but his shot was saved by Henry.
Three minutes later the one way traffic continued as Alex Wall headed Mike Atkinson’s cross over the bar.
On thirty seven minutes Henry’s clearance was blocked but Wall’s attempted lob over the keeper went high.
Before the break a long through ball found Renedi Masampu but Henry came out on top in a one on one situation.

Then good work by Mauro Vilhete saw him dribble into the six yard box but the Bluebirds scrambled the ball clear.
Hampton made the game safe ten minutes into the second half when Chippenham were caught playing around in their own area and they conceded a penalty which Wall dispatched.
Hampton were content to protect their lead and allowed Chippenham to come back into the game as Luke Spokes rolled a shot wide.
The Bluebirds then won four corners within seven minutes but they all came to nothing.
Leone Gravata’s cross on sixty nine minutes saw Harry Parsons side-foot a volley straight at Ted Curd, whilst Will Dawes fired over from inside the area.
Substitute Caine Bradbury then skimmed the bar with a shot a minute after coming off the bench.
Ten minutes of stoppage time saw the Bluebirds fail to threaten the visitors goal, whilst in the ninety ninth minute Henry again made a superb save as the Beavers deservedly came away with the three points.
