Chippenham edged this FA Cup 2nd round replay thanks to an early Harvey Bunker goal but were indebted to keeper Will Henry who pulled off a series of impressive saves as Poole went in search of a late goal that would have seen extra time.

The all important goal came on five minutes when Luke Holmes fouled Michael Elechi and Bunker’s dipping free kick appeared to leave keeper Mark Childs unsighted as it nestled into the far corner.

Three minutes later Harry Warwick’s run saw him cut back inside the box but his effort was blocked.

A forty yard free kick from the visitors was held by Henry whilst a Poole corner on fourteen minutes saw Tony Lee fire high.

The Dolphins then had a claim for handball in the area ignored. As the Dorset side continued to look for an equalizer a thirty yard shot from Josh Carmichael on the half hour, was superbly pushed over the bar by Henry, from the resulting corner a goalbound effort was blocked on the line.

Three minutes later Warwick looked to burst through but he was pulled back.

Bunker’s free kick was then scrambled clear whilst at the other end a Dolphins corner saw Lee’s header fall to substitute Sean Wright who shot wide.

On thirty eight minutes Warwick pulled the ball back to Bunker whose shot was blocked. Five minutes of stoppage time saw Poole gain two corners and a free kick which came to nothing.

The second half started with Henry holding Lee’s curling shot. On fifty two minutes Poole’s Wright fired over from twenty five yards.

Alex Bray then found Joe Hanks whose shot hit the side netting.

Midway through the half Holmes’ cross found Lee whose headed effort was saved by Henry. On sixty seven minutes substitute Ross Stearn raced clear but he put his shot wide of the advancing Childs and past the far post.

Ten minutes later Stearn’s free kick was cleared to Luke Russe whose fierce dipping volley was just too high. On seventy eight minutes Warwick’s shot was held by Childs.

Poole substitute Will Fletcher then headed wide.

On eighty three minutes a Poole free kick saw Henry block Fletcher’s effort and the keeper also blocked Lee’s follow-up effort from point-blank range.

A Lee long throw ended up with Holmes’s low shot deflecting to Henry.

Another long throw from Lee saw Jack Dickson head over.

In the first minute of stoppage time Lee went one on one with Henry but the Bluebird keeper again blocked and Jamie Whisken hit the loose ball wide.

Chippenham then had two claims for a penalty ignored in the ninety fourth and ninety seventh minute as Stearn and then fellow substitute Marlon Jackson were both floored in the area.

In the ninety seventh minute Lee took another long throw that came to nothing.
