The Bluebirds ensured they go into the last game of the season at Havant where the winner will make the play-offs although the home side only need a draw to finish seventh.

After taking a 2-0 lead the Bluebirds conceded two goals in the last few minutes before hitting a ninety fourth minute winner, at the same time recording their first ever league double over their Berkshire opponents.

That sent the highest crowd of the season, bar the Boxing Day clash with Bath City, home happy, although the draw would have seen the same outcome with the Bluebirds still needing the three points at Havant.

The Crusaders were the first to show on three minutes as Max Ram’s headed effort was saved by Will Henry.

Five minutes later Joe Hanks’ shot hit a defender and the sting was taken out of it making a comfortable save for Luke Cairney.

A further five minutes on saw Jordan Young’s shot from distance go wide.

On the quarter hour mark Hanks’ corner was punched back to him and his curling shot went just beyond the far post.

At the other end Jake Evans’ corner was scrambled clear whilst Cairney just grabbed the ball from the incoming Luke Russe.

The Bluebirds took the lead on twenty eight minutes when Will Richards and Cairney both went up for a cross and the ball broke to Russe who side-footed home.

There followed a four minute delay as Cairney was treated for a head injury.

On thirty seven minutes Young’s free kick went through everyone and just wide of the far post.

Three minutes later Young’s twenty five yard effort brought a fine save from the Crusaders stopper, whilst moments later a cross saw the same player head just wide.

In stoppage time Alex Bray appeared to be fouled in the area but nothing was given whilst the half finished with Young’s free kick going narrowly wide.

Three minutes after the interval Claudio Herbert crossed to fellow half-time substitute Chris Flood but his headed effort was just wide. Tom Mehew’s shot from distance was then pushed out whilst a long throw ended with Flood volleying over from close in.

Just before the hour a corner for the visitors was headed wide by Ram whilst at the other end Bray netted but was ruled off side.

Young then saw an effort charged down before his shot hit a post.

The Bluebirds doubled their lead on seventy one minutes when Cairney took a free kick in the Chippenham half.

The ball was cleared downfield and Matt Jones failed to control it allowing Young to outwit the keeper to find the net.

On seventy nine minutes substitute Mo Dabre fired wide.

Hungerford pulled a goal back on eighty five minutes when a free kick ended with Ram volleying home.

Bluebird substitute Noah Coppin was denied by Cairney whilst Hungerford substitute Reece Wylie saw his shot saved by Henry.

In the first minute of stoppage time a cross from Jones was met by a fellow former Bluebird Rhys Tyler who headed home to equalize.

A minute later Alfie Santos’ audacious lob came back off a post and with Cairney out of position Coppin was able to hit the ball into an empty net for the winner.
