A five star Bluebirds performance leads to five home wins on the spin
Chippenham Town continue our fantastic run of consecutive victories and extend to five, this came as we netted five past bottom of the table Eastbourne.
It took just eight minutes for the first chance as the visitors had a shot from 25 yards, it was watched out by Will Henry and went just wide of the post.
15 minutes in another chance for Eastbourne with some quick feet from former Bluebird Quevin Castro to create some space but eventually blazed the shot wide.
Later, some good play from Rashawn Scott worried the Eastbourne defence but his shot was high and wide.
After 20 minutes we made the breakthrough, thanks to Billy Phillips. His initial attempt forced a save out of Eastbourne’s keeper but his hands weren’t strong enough and looped in watched over the line by Anointed Chukwu.
Great play on the wing from Billy Phillips created a great chance for Chukwu in the six yard box however he narrowly put the ball over the bar after a good turn.
38 minutes in Scott went dancing around the defenders drawing a penalty. The first penalty attempt was saved, after Jake Evans strike was down the middle powerfully and saved. Caine Bradbury was quick on the rebound and made it 2-0 for Chippenham.
A quick response was needed and was achieved by Eastbourne as a ball from deep was played out wide and eventually into the path Quevin Castro who headed past Will Henry for out first goal conceded at home since January.

The very first chance resulted in a goal for Chippenham scored by Jake Evans after a great through ball by Phillips into him left him 1-on-1 and he slotted it perfectly into the bottom corner.
Eastbourne’s Kai Corbett was lucky to remain on the field after a high tackle on Will King, with the referee opting for just a yellow card.
Another half chance after a good corner was played to to Haines and a head on target was claimed by Eastbourne’s keeper.
70 minutes into the second half and an amazing chance presented itself for Tom Mehew, who did well to tackle the goalkeeper and his shot from distance smashed onto the post.
Soon after another goal came as Luke Haines placed a perfect header following a Caine Bradbury corner, for a 4-1 lead.
A dominant performance to this point by Chippenham was capped by Anointed Chukwu grabbed as he rounded the Eastbourne goalie to tap in from close range.
Max Mullins fired home from close range to give some for CTFC to think about approaching the final stages, but CTFC defended well to see out an impressive victory.
