Published: at 9:13am

Chippenham earned a well-deserved point in Kent as an unfortunate own goal gave the hosts an equalizer after the Bluebirds had taken an early lead at the start of the second half.

Dover were the first to show as Henry Young’s sixth minute shot hit Craig Fasanmade.

Fasanmade then combined well with Eddie Jones but the danger was averted by Chevron McLean.

The Bluebirds then forced two corners and from the second Fasanmade’s shot hit Charlie Naylor’s arm but appeals for a penalty went unrewarded.

Midway through the half Freddie Grant’s shot was blocked at the expense of a corner.

Dover responded as Joe Oyenuga’s shot was blocked by Will Henry and as the Bluebirds failed to clear McLean found Young who fired over.

Just before the half hour a Dover corner ended with James Dunne’s long range shot going over.

As the Kent side continued to press a good run by Iffy Allen saw his shot from outside of the area superbly saved by Henry.

The resultant corner saw Peter Ojemen head over whilst an effort from McLean hit the side netting.

Three minutes before the break Oyenuga’s shot again saw Henry excel at the expense of a corner from which Allen’s shot was blocked.

Five minutes after the break Roman Charles-Cook found Young who shot over the bar.

The Bluebirds took the lead on fifty five minutes as Luke Spokes’ shot deflected in off Fasanmade.

On sixty three minutes a shot from Charles-Cook was cleared off the line by Luke Haines and a minute later Henry made a superb save from Allen’s long distance shot.

A good move involving Luke Spokes and Owen Windsor saw Fasanmade fail to get his second.

Dover equalized on sixty eight minutes as Sutherland’s cross deflected off Haines and into the net.

On eighty five minutes substitute Marcel Lewis found Haines who flicked the ball to Fasanmade whose shot was saved by Billy Terrell.

In stoppage time the Bluebirds twice went close to clinching all three points as Fasanmade combined with Matt McClure who found Lewis whose shot was blocked by Terrell whilst Jake Evans hit the bar.
