MATCH REPORT: Eastbourne Borough 3-0 Chippenham Town | National League South | Saturday 13th April 2024

Chippenham’s fourth game in eight days saw them fall to defeat in Sussex.


Eastbourne took the lead on two minutes when a cross cum shot saw Sam Beard score.

Six minutes later Caine Bradbury back-heeled to Luke Haines who shot wide.

Alex Bray then made a great saving tackle to deny the Sports a second.

On the quarter hour Bradbury’s cross was met by Dan Ellison who was unable to take advantage.

Luke Spokes’ corner was met by Haines but cleared.

On thirty seven minutes Yahya Bamba’s shot was deflected behind for a corner from which Moussa Diarra headed home Alfie Bendle’s flag-kick.

In the final minute of the half Luke Spokes’ long range shot deflected into the arms of Harrison Foulkes.

In stoppage time Beard’s effort was put behind for a corner but this time Diarra’s headed effort from the resulting flag-kick was easily held by Henry.

HALF TIME: Eastbourne Borough 2-0 Chippenham Town

On fifty three minutes Matt Green helped on a Sports throw in and a good run by Finn Ballard McBride saw his cross side-footed home by Bamba.

Just past the hour Beard’s shot was held by Henry.

On sixty six minutes Craig Fasanmade’s shot was saved by Harrison Foulkes.

A speculative effort from Beard then went wide. Substitute Jake Evans shot straight at the Borough keeper on eighty three minutes.

In stoppage time Jacob Hutchinson’s shot was saved by Henry who also pulled off a superb save to deny Ballard McBride.

Substitute Imran Uche’s shot was blocked whilst Henry again excelled as he saved a point blank effort from Ballard McBride.
