MATCH REPORT: Hastings United 1-2 Chippenham Town | FA Trophy Second Round | Sat 19th November 2022
Chippenham gained some revenge for last season’s FA Cup defeat to Hastings but they paid a high price with injuries to two key players.
Hastings made most of the early running as from a second minute corner Joe Gbode failed with a headed effort.
Midway through the half the Bluebirds lost Joe Hanks who had to be stretchered off to be replaced by Caine Bradbury.
Chippenham took the lead on the half hour with a fine drive from Harry Parsons.
Five minutes later a Sam Hasler corner was scrambled away whilst Hasler also saw a shot go over.
Craig Fasanmade had a chance to double the lead as he made a fine run before his shot was saved by Louis Rogers.
Will Richards then had to leave the field on thirty nine minutes to be subbed by Harrison Minturn.
The two Chippenham injuries saw seven minutes added to the first half.
