MATCH REPORT: Maidenhead 3-0 Chippenham Town | National League South | Saturday 29th November
We fall to defeat in Berkshire, Riley Newman reports.
The first chance of the afternoon falls to Chippenham with Anointed Chukwu shooting from range inside the first 4 minutes. An audacious attempt which is comfortably saved.
Chippenham continued to make use of their possession after 18 minutes with Colwell delivered a ball from the right hand side into the area. It fell to Chukwu whose header didn’t find an opener.
After half hour Chippenham had another opportunity in the form of a Tom Owen-Evans’ attempt which is blocked by a Maidenhead defender.
A fantastic chance for Chippenham to finally take the deserved lead on 41 minutes, as Tom Owen-Evans played a ball through to Bradbury who capitalised on the Maidenhead player’s poor pass. However the hosts’ keeper comes out and tackles the Chippenham forward.
Another chance for the bluebirds with Chukwu yet again finding himself free in the area after turning his man but as he’s about to pull the trigger the Maidenhead defender blocks the shot.
Just before half time Maidenhead take the lead with the Maidenhead midfielder picking up on a loose Chippenham ball and fires from range along the floor beating Will Henry at the far post.

Chippenham started the second half well on the 52nd minute as Ethan Vaughan has the opportunity to level the game but the keeper does well to save his attempt.
Once again Chippenham worked it well to get in an attacking position with the shot coming for Mehew being deflected out for a corner which came to nothing.
Maidenhead doubled there lead with a cross from the right hand side and it’s powerfully headed in for 2-0 on 63 minutes.
Chippenham looked to respond immediately after 65 minutes with a shot from our centre half Canice Carroll on the edge of the area but Jordi van Stappershoef tipped it round the post.
After 75 minutes Chippenham continued to look to pull one back with Ezio Touray being played through but his shot went along the floor and it was saved comfortably by the Maidenhead keeper.
Maidenhead’s third goal came from the penalty spot. Rather suspiciously the Maidenhead man falls to the ground after not much contact from Carroll and subsequently a penalty is give and Canice is shown a second yellow and sent off. The Maidenhead player converts from the spot and make it 3-0
