MATCH REPORT: Maidstone United 0-1 Chippenham Town | National League South | Saturday 23rd December 2023

The Bluebirds recorded a superb win against fourth placed Maidstone to record their first ever points at the Stones’ ground.


Maidstone were the first to show as Chi Ezennolim’s first minute shot was off target.

On eight minutes Lucas Covolan was forced to punch away Eddie Jones’ cross whilst a minute later Luke Spokes’ shot went wide.

On seventeen minutes Jacob Berkeley-Agyepong, making his Stones debut, having just signed from Havant and Waterlloville, brought a fine save from Will Henry and a minute later the Chippenham stopper made an even better save from Sol Wanjau-Smith. Berkeley-Agyepong was then well off target with a further effort.

On twenty seven minutes Will King appeared to be fouled in the area by Gavin Hoyte but no penalty was awarded.

A minute later Chippenham took the lead with a superb left-footed strike from the edge of the area by Jake Evans.

On thirty eight minutes a long throw from Luke Haines was headed over by Aaron Amadi-Holloway.

A minute later Caine Bradbury’s shot was just wide.

On forty three minutes Matt Rush found Sam Corne whose shot was blocked by Haines at the expense of a corner.

In the third minute of stoppage time Henry dived to save an effort from Rush.

HALF TIME: Maidstone United 0-1 Chippenham Town

In the first minute of the second half Matt McClure headed a good chance wide.

Just past midway in the half Berkeley-Agyepong hit the side netting.

On seventy eight minutes Corne’s shot was deflected behind and from the resulting corner substitute Liam Sole shot wide.

On eighty three minutes substitutes Nat Williams and Craig Fasanmade combined to present Ed Williams with a shot which was deflected behind.

Three minutes later George Fowler made a superb tackle in the area to thwart Fasanmade.

On eighty eight minutes Stones substitute Timmy Abraham fired high.

The Stones won two corners in stoppage time but were unable to take advantage.
