MATCH REPORT: St. Albans City 0-1 Chippenham Town | National League South | Saturday 6th April 2024
A single goal from Aaron Amadi-Holloway followed by a superb defensive performance saw the Bluebirds leave Hertfordshire with all three points. It was the first time this season that the Bluebirds recorded back to back clean sheets.
On five minutes a Bluebird corner ended with Jake Evans shooting straight at Michael Johnson.
At the other end Shaun Jeffers’ shot on the turn was saved by Will Henry.
On twelve minutes a long ball from Henry found Tyreke Johnson who in turn found Caine Bradbury who won a corner.
From the resulting flag-kick Amadi-Holloway side-footed home.
On twenty minutes good work from Dominic Hutchinson won the hosts a corner from which Jack James’ shot was blocked by Dan Ellison.
A minute later Ed Williams’ shot was deflected behind for a fruitless corner.
On twenty five minutes a Saints corner saw a penalty shout that went unanswered whilst a minute later Jeffers headed wide.
Just past the half hour a Saints corner saw Giorgio Rasulo’s cross find Ibrahim Akanbi whose shot was blocked by Amadi-Holloway.
On thirty three minutes Eddie Jones converted a cross but it was ruled out for off side. Hutchinson then fired a shot over the bar.

Eight minutes after the break Zane Banton drew a good save from Henry.
Four minutes later Bradbury’s shot was saved and although Craig Fasanmade netted the effort was again ruled-out.
At the other end Hutchinson’s shot was superbly turned over by Henry a from the resulting corner Luke Haines cleared Sam Brown’s header off the line.
On sixty two minutes Banton’s shot went wide. Two minutes later St Albans substitute Jake Burger’s shot was blocked.
On sixty eight minutes Akanbi’s shot was too high whilst Rasulo’s shot deflected to Henry. Burger then fired over the bar from close range.
On ninety minutes a Saints corner ended with Joe Partington shooting over.
