MATCH REPORT: Tonbridge Angels 3-2 Chippenham Town
Angles soar to victory thanks to Pavey, as we remember Devonte Aransibia
Chippenham Town were edged out in a thrilling five-goal contest as Tonbridge Angels claimed a dramatic 3–2 victory thanks to Alfie Pavey’s second-half strike.
The hosts struck early in the third minute, with Tonbridge taking the lead to put them in front after a cross came in from the far side and after a deflection it was struck into the back of the net by Noah McCann.
Chippenham begin to grow into the game, through opportunities with Caine Bradbury and Freddie Grant.
The equaliser came in the 13th minute, with captain fantastic Luke Haines meeting the loose ball on the half-volley, firing past Louie Shala to level the contest at 1–1.
Both sides continued to press, with chances at either end. Chippenham continued to attack looking dangerous going forward, while Will Henry remained solid providing several important saves to keep the score level.
Tonbridge regained the lead in the 34th minute through Ethan Sutcliffe, after a set piece fell into the path of the central defender making it 2–1.
However quickly, Chippenham responded before the break with a brilliant Colwell delivery finding the head of Ezio Touray who rose highest to score the equaliser going into half time.

The second half remained intense and finely balanced. With both sides creating chances, once again Henry producing a string of fine saves in quick succession.
In the 57th minute, Tonbridge struck again to retake the lead for a third time with a cross from the right hand side finding Alfie Pavey who finished low making it 3-2.
As the game drew closer to an end, Chippenham pushed hard for an equaliser in the closing stages.
Billy Phillips, Will King, Harry Parsons and Koszela all had opportunities, while Touray came close with an acrobatic effort that was just mistimed.
Despite the late oncoming pressure and attacking substitutions, the Bluebirds were unable to find an equalizer, and Tonbridge held on to secure the victory.
