The Bluebirds remained in the relegation zone despite a superb victory on the South coast ending their run of six straight draws.

The first chance fell to the hosts on two minutes as Ahkeem Rose headed wide.

Former Bluebird Brad Ash then saw a shot blocked and another effort go wide.

On twenty five minutes Matt McClure’s shot was blocked. Just past the half hour Tom Blair’s free kick was cleared back to him but his shot went straight to Will Henry.

On thirty four minutes Craig Fasanmade’s cross cum shot was tipped over the bar by Zaki Oualah and the resulting corner saw Weymouth clear the ball off the line.

Three minute’s before the break Oualah held Fasamande’s headed effort whilst Matt McClure headed wide.

HALF TIME: Weymouth 0-0 Chippenham Town

Two minutes after the break Blair went on a fine run but his eventual shot was blocked for a corner from which Weymouth conceded a foul.

The resulting free kick was headed back by Tom Bearwish to Rose who was clear on goal but Henry saved at the expense of another corner.

As Weymouth continued to press Henry Slade’s fifty first minute cross found Rose who headed over the bar.

Nathan Carlyle then found Ash whose shot deflected into the arms of Henry.

A further Terras corner was then headed wide by Harry Kyprianou.

On fifty six minutes the Bluebirds scored the all important goal as Alfie Santos’ ball into the area and chested down by McClure with Weymouth only clearing as far as Luke Russe who unleashed a thirty yard screamer into the top corner.

On sixty five minutes Russe made a superb sliding challenge to deny Ash.

Two minutes later Blair and Rose combined for Ash to fire over.

On sixty nine minutes two efforts from Ash both resulted in Chippenham conceding corners and from the second one the Bluebirds conceded a third which ended in a foul on Henry.

Weymouth again went close on seventy four minutes as Rose fired over the bar.

Thompson was returning after several months out with injury.

Three minutes later Thompson burst forward but good keeping by Henry, who dived on his cross, saved the Bluebirds.

On eighty four minutes Joe Parker’s shot went straight at the keeper, whilst two minutes later fellow substitute Caine Bradbury’s shot on the turn hit a post and Fasanmade’s follow-up was blocked.

The ball was moved to the other end where Henry again saved from Ash.
