Published: at 2:43pm

After taking the lead in first half stoppage time the Bluebirds conceded three second half goals as they fell to defeat in Sussex thanks to an Ollie Pearce treble.

Worthing were the first to show as Danny Cashman’s long range effort on three minutes was easily held by Will Henry.

On eighteen minutes an intricate passing move from the Bluebirds saw Craig Fasanmasde’s shot deflect off a Worthing defender and keeper Roco Rees was forced to tip the ball over.

On twenty four minutes Ricky Agiar found Pearce whose shot was blocked by Henry.

Aaron Amadi-Holloway then did well to block Joe Felix’s shot for a corner.

On thirty eight minutes Henry safely held a tame effort from Greg Luer.

Four minutes from the break Rees did well to grab Matt McClure’s cross from reaching Fasanmade.

The Bluebirds took the lead in first half stoppage time as Luke Spokes’ shot was headed off the line by Joel Colbran and McClure stabbed home the loose ball.

HALF TIME: Worthing 0-1 Chippenham Town

Worthing equalized in the first minute of the second half as Ed Williams lay injured play was waved on and Colbran crossed for Cashman to head down over for Pearce to tap home.

The Bluebirds responded with a fizzing effort from Caine Bradbury that was blocked by a home defender.

At the other end Cashman blazed over whilst a shot from distance from Felix was just wide.

Agiar then found Luer whose shot was turned behind by Henry.

Just before the hour Luer found former Bluebird loanee Agiar who shot over. A long range effort from Kane Wills was safely gathered by Henry.

Chippenham then put pressure on the home side as Dan Ellison went close at a corner but the referee awarded a foul in Worthing’s favour. Tom Mehew’s sixty fifth minute shot was deflected for a corner from which Ellison headed wide.

Worthing took the lead on seventy one minutes when a Cashman cross was turned in by Pearce.

Chippenham responded immediately as McClure’s twenty five yard shot was superbly turned over by Rees.

Substitute Joan Luque shot over the bar on eighty minutes.

Mehew then did well to set up McClure but the ball just evaded the Chippenham skipper.

Seven minutes from time Agiar’s cross found Pearce who headed home via the underside of the bar for his hat trick.
