Matt Chappell to leave Chippenham Town

The long serving head of media departs

Chippenham Town Football Club would like to extend huge thanks to Matt Chappell who steps down this summer.

Matt spent 14 years covering every face of the Bluebirds’ media channels from Match Reports to live updates and of course videography. During his time as Head of Media, he has seen the 2016 Southern League title win, our famous Playoff push in 2022 and the historic FA Cup run just a few months after. Matt was one of the club’s mainstays during his 14 years; players and managers come and go, but rest assured Matt was there letting Bluebird supporters across the world know.

Matt recounts his time here:

I’ve enjoyed every minute of my time at the club, it’s been a dream to carry out Social Media and Videography duties for a club that I have grown up with and live not far away from. Personal reasons mean I am having to step away but I am sure the team will do well to carry media forward. And I hope to be back as a supporter and a helping hand very often

Jamie Oleszynski, our current Media Officer, said this:

Since Matt gave me the opportunity to join the club in 2019, he has been nothing but the hardest worker that I know. There has been a countless number of hours that he has dedicated to the club, alongside his day job. Some of the best moments of my life have seen Matt sat next to me, and he has always been there as a friend through thick and thin, and Slough (A) 2023!

Matt has been an incredible volunteer, and everyone at the Club wishes him well in his future ventures, and he is always welcome back to the Thornbury Surfacing Stadium!

We will make a further announcement on the Head of Media position in due course.

Thank you Matt, once a Bluebird always a Bluebird 💙
