The Bluebirds welcomed back several players who had been self-isolating and were given a good run out by near-neighbours Melksham Town. The hosts were the first to show with Mawford heading a free kick wide. Melksham’s Ormrod then headed wide from a corner.

The Bluebirds first effort of note saw Joe Hanks’ shot blocked and his follow-up shot went straight at keeper Johns.

The Bluebirds opened the scoring eight minutes before the break when a strong run from Alefe Santos saw his cross headed home by Marlon Jackson.

Before the break the Melksham defence cleared after Alex Bray had threatened.

After the break Chippenham continued to press but the home defence held firm.

The Bluebirds pressure finally paid off twenty minutes from time with a second goal from a trialist.
