Peter Watts – loyal supporter
It is with great sadness that we must announce the passing of Peter Watts.
Peter was born in 1934 and first watched the Town pre-war at the age of four, when his father Jethro cycled him in from Stanley on the crossbar of his bicycle.
He remained a loyal supporter through thick and thin and encouraged his children, Paul & David, to follow the Town. His grandson Daniel, a fourth-generation supporter, represented the club’s academy.
Peter was a season-ticket holder and was a regular until failing health prevented him from attending home games in recent months.
He remained an avid fan though, and was never far from his iPad, keeping abreast of goings on at Hardenhuish Park.
It is perhaps fitting that in his final season, after 80 plus years of following the Town, the club achieved its highest position in their history.
RIP Peter – a true gentleman and a true blue.
