Will Henry extends his stay with The Bluebirds

Stopper has been in fine form since joining The Bluebirds

Chippenham Town are absolutely delighted to announce that Will Henry has re-signed for the 2023/24 National League South campaign.

Will is now entering his 3rd season with the Bluebirds and not only has he established himself as a fan favourite, but on many occasions has earned high praise from visiting supporters as being “One of, if not the best keeper in the league”. Will has already given us so many memorable moments from penalty saves to big stops at important times, and locking down our #1 for the upcoming season is massive.

Chippenham manager, Gary Horgan had this to say on Will’s decision to stay with the Bluebirds.

I am really pleased that Will is continuing his stay at the Thornbury Surfacing Stadium. He is without a doubt one of the best keepers in the league and at only 24 years old, he is only going to get better.

His all around ability but particularly, his ability with his feet will be crucial in the way we will continue to play in the upcoming season.

Welcome back Will.

We caught up with the Stopper for his thoughts on re-signing for the club.

Yeah, I’m really happy to get it done and announce that I am staying with Chippenham for the next season.

We had such a terrific end to last season that I don’t think any of the boys really wanted it to stop.

For me, it’s about business as usual, continuing to try and be the launch of the attack from the back way of playing, keeping goals out at my end.

I have really been embraced by the club and the fans during my time here and it wasn’t a particularly difficult decision to stay, I enjoy my football here and here is hoping for another great season.

Come on you Bluebirds.

So for another year, the Chippenham faithful can tune up their air guitars, get their bounce on and loudly boom out across the National League South that they like it, they like it, they like it! Because in 2023/24, SUPER WILL HENRY’S IN GOAL.
