Will Henry signs new Chippenham contract
The Bluebirds’ goalkeeper sings until the end of 2025/26
Chippenham Town Football Club are delighted to announce that Will Henry has signed an extension to his deal, keeping him at the Thornbury Surfacing Stadium until the end of the 2025/26 season.
Upon signing Henry said:
“I am happy to have signed on for another year. I’ve enjoyed playing regular football for a number of seasons now and that is something I want to continue to do.
It was an easy decision to stay another year. The way we play suits my game and I can see that the club is trying to progress and that’s something I want to be a part of.
Hopefully we can finish this season strong and kick on for next season.”
Will Henry has been our number one shot stopper since his permanent arrival from Bath City in the summer of 2021,but that wasn’t his first spell with us as he had two separate loan spells with us from Swindon Town in 18/19 and for one match in 2019/20.
Across these spells, Will has made 209 appearances across all competitions and has played a part in some of the club’s best moments in our recent history. From three penalty saves in the Playoffs in 2022, to a heroic last minute penalty save in the FA Cup as we broke a club record in reaching the Second Round.
Following Henry’s extension, Gary Horgan said:
“Will recently passed 200 appearances which shows his importance and consistency since signing for the Bluebirds.
He is without doubt one of the best goalkeepers in the league and in recent seasons has shown the value of not only having a goalkeeper with good handling but one who is also excellent with his feet.
Will is key to the way we want to play and we are pleased that we will once again see him between the posts at the Thornbury Surfacing Stadium for the 25/26 season.”
Most recently Will has just returned from a short three game spell on the side-lines following a small injury. In his first game back he was presented with the Man of the Match Award, as we beat Weymouth 1-0 at home.

Congratulations Will!
