Canice Carroll signs for CTFC
The former Oxford United, Swindon and Brentford defender joins us for 25/26
Chippenham Town are delighted to confirm the arrival of Canice Carroll, following his departure from Oxford City.
Upon signing he said:
“I am really looking forward to signing, this is something that has been coming along in the pipeline for a while!”
Canice has a wealth of professional experience; having been developed by Oxford United’s academy, he made 25 appearances for the U’s before before being signed by Brentford.
Since leaving the Bees, he has turned out for Swindon, Stevenage and Queen’s Park as a professional player.
As well as his wealth of professional club experience, Canice has represented the Republic of Ireland at youth level, from U18-21, including a third place finish with the U21’s at the 2019 Toulon Tournament.
Most recently Canice has been a regular at Oxford City for whom he made 110 league appearances across all of the National Leagues, and he played every minute of the hoops’ 22/23 playoff run, in which they were promoted to the National League.
Carroll can find former comforts at CTFC as he follows Reece Fleet in moving south from Oxfordshire, and the two certainly have on-pitch experience together. 104 times the two players have shared the pitch, and Carroll has not played with anyone else for more minutes than he has Fleet.
