MATCH REPORT: Torquay United 3-0 Chippenham Town | National League South | Tuesday 21st October

We taste defeat in Devon despite second half dominance.


CTFC fall to defeat on the South coast, as two first half goals and one just after the break give the Gulls the win.

The opening 15 minutes were without much to write home about, but CTFC starting brighter with some promising set-pieces leading to shots turned away.

On 20 minutes a free-kick was given 20 yards from goal, with former Bluebird Jordan Young firing into the top corner opening the scoring.

Chippenham continued to have forays foward, as Ezio Touray was put through before the assistants’ flag denied him a one-on-one.

With just minutes remaining until the interval, Sonny Lo-Everton striking into the top corner from distance, two half chances and two fantastic goals from the Gulls.

Following the break, we continued to have possession in advanced areas with Ethan Vaughan, Henry Sady and Touray all getting forward.

Just moments later Louis Dennis scored from close range to effectively seal the hosts’ result.

Reece Fleet had a shot blocked from the edge of the box soon after.

Following the third goal, tjhe reminder of the match was controlled by CTFC as strikes from Sady, Jake Evans and Canice Carroll had shots saved by James Hamon.
