MATCH REPORT: Yeovil Town 1-3 Chippenham Town | National League South | Tuesday 12th March 2024
The Bluebirds came from behind to arguably record their best win of the season as they swept past runaway leaders Yeovil Town.
After Yeovil forced the early pace the first real chance fell to Luke Spokes on nine minutes his left-footed shot from the edge of the area going wide.
Three minutes later a cross from Tyreke Johnson saw Tom Owen-Evans force a good block from Joe Day and the loose ball fell to Ed Williams whose goal bound shot was blocked on the line by Jake Wannell.
On twenty two minutes Johnson’s ball in just failed to find Owen-Evans.
Five minutes later former Bluebird favourite Jordan Young shot wide from distance.
On the half hour a Chippenham free kick saw the ball given away by Tom Mehew and Yeovil raced away with Will Henry making a good save from Sonny Blu Lo-Everton at the expense of a corner.
Yeovil opened the scoring on forty two minutes after Young and Matt Worthington combined to find Olly Thomas whose cross saw Alex Fisher rising high to head past Henry.

Three minutes after the break Young got the better of Dan Ellison but his ball to Sam Pearson saw the latter’s curling shot go wide whilst six minutes later Owen-Evans’ shot was blocked.
On fifty eight minutes the Bluebirds equalized as Spokes’ corner saw Ellison challenge for the ball and it fell to Amadi-Holloway who prodded it home.
Midway through the half Henry made a superb save from Young.
Yeovil then forced two corners and from the second Morgan Williams shot wide.
On seventy seven minutes Young’s free kick went over the bar.
On eighty three minutes the Bluebirds took the lead as Will King headed the ball forward and Owen-Evans found substitute Matt McClure who rolled a right footed shot past Day.
Three minutes later McClure set up Craig Fasanmade who hit a superb goal into the top corner to ensure the three points went back to Wiltshire.
