Published: at 1:48pm

Chippenham’s winless run extended to seven matches as the Bluebirds slipped back into the relegation zone despite a credible point at Welling, their fourth successive draw

The first chance fell to the Bluebirds on two minutes when Luke Russe’s clearance was headed on by Alex Bray to Owen Windsor whose long range shot was saved by Myles Roberts.

At the other end Stefan Payne’s half volley was pushed behind by Will Henry.

The Bluebirds lost left back Will King to injury on six minutes.

On eleven minutes Luke Russe’s shot was off target and two minutes later the same player had an effort blocked.

Welling went close on twenty minutes as Payne’s long-range effort hit a post.

Three minutes later Roberts did well to save Craig Fasanmade’s near post effort.

On thirty three minutes James Dunne flashed a shot wide of goal for the hosts.

On thirty seven minutes Ade Azeez broke clear but substitute Aaron Simpson did well to challenge.

On forty five minutes a twice taken free kick from James Dunne was saved by Henry.

In the first minute of stoppage time Windsor’s shot from distance was saved by Roberts.

On fifty four minutes Amadou Kassarate’s cross into the box saw Payne go down but appeals for a Welling penalty went unanswered.

Similarly at the other end Caine Bradbury appeared to be fouled in the box on the hour mark but again the referee was unmoved.

Roberts then made a superb save from Russe’s overhead kick.

Chippenham took the lead when Roberts couldn’t hold Bradbury’s shot and Bray followed in to score.

A minute later Owen Windsor appeared to be elbowed in the face but again nothing was given.

On seventy minutes Windsor shot wide. Three minutes later Will Tizzard did well to deny George Alexander a chance.

On seventy seven minutes Ade Azeez’s volley was well-saved by Henry who pushed the ball out for a throw in.

Welling hit the equalizer on seventy eight minutes as Chi Ezennolim crossed deep to Kodi Lyons-Foster who stabbed home.
